Yuanwei Qin is a research scientist and working on Land Cover and Land Use Change (LCLUC). He has strong computer programming skills in cloud computing platforms (Google Earth Engine and ENVI/IDL). He has studied forest, croplands, and urbanization in monsoon Asia (East-Southeast-South Asia) and United States using data integration from multiple optical (e.g., MODIS and Landsat) and RADAR (e.g., PALSAR) remote sensing images. As PI, Dr. Yuanwei Qin has involved in one NASA LCLUC research project in Southeast Asia and two pending research projects. He has authored and co-authored 35 papers.
